(CBS News) ISLAMABAD – A teenaged Christian girl arrested in Pakistan on a controversial charge of blasphemy was ordered released on bail by a judge Friday, but there are concerns that her life may still be in danger even after seemingly dodging the allegation – which could technically have brought the death penalty. Judge Azam Khan ordered her release on about $10,000 bail after hearing competing arguments from the defense and prosecution lawyers. CBS News is withholding her identity as she is a minor.  “Our position has been vindicated. My client is now free on bail,” Tahir Chaudhary, 바카라 룰 the girl’s lawyer told CBS News. The rare legal victory for an individual targeted with Pakistan’s harsh blasphemy laws followed a tumultuous three weeks for the teenager who, according to a medical report, is 14 years old, but not intellectually developed to a level typical of her age. Chaudhary told CBS News his client suffers from “mental ailments that have hindered her mental development,” without specifying her condition. She was arrested after someone from her low-income neighborhood in Islamabad’s suburbs complained of seeing her carrying burned pages of the Koran – the Islamic holy book. Desecration of the Koran is considered blasphemy in Pakistan – an offense which can bring the death penalty, though it has never been meted out in court. (AP) BAGHDAD – Three bomb blasts shortly before sunset Wednesday killed 10 people north of Baghdad in the latest spasm of violence to grip Iraq. The blasts underscored the volatility of the country eight months after the last U.S. troops pulled out. Insurgents, led by the local branch of al Qaeda, are trying to re-establish themselves in their old strongholds and undermine the government. The first bomb went off Wednesday in Baqouba, about 60 kilometers (35 miles) northeast of the Iraqi capital. Police said two civilians and one police officer were killed, and five people were wounded. Minutes later, authorities said, a car bomb exploded at the entrance of the main market in Muqdadiyah, about 90 kilometers (60 miles) north of Baghdad. A second blast struck as police arrived on the scene. Police said the toll for both bombings in the town was seven killed and 26 wounded. Iraq: Gunmen kill 7 Shiites in targeted attack The bombs exploded shortly before the ceremonial breaking of the daily fast during the holy month of Ramadan, when families and friends gather for a sunset meal. Police said the Muqdadiyah market was crowded with shoppers who were buying last-minute supplies for the “iftar” meal. Baqouba and Muqdadiyah are both located in the province of Diyala, 사천출장만남 a former stronghold of al Qaeda’s Iraqi branch. The province is home to both Sunni and...

(AP) SEOUL, South Korea – It’s a classic tale of a small-town girl who follows her dreams to the big city. But in this case, the girl is a North Korean coal miner, the big city is Pyongyang and her dream is to become a high-flying trapeze artist. “Comrade Kim Goes Flying,” a collaboration between a North Korean director and two European filmmakers, makes its world premiere Saturday at the Toronto International Film Festival before it heads to Pyongyang later this month for its North Korean debut. The film was shot on location with an all-Korean cast, but it avoids overtly political themes and isn’t what foreign audiences might expect to see from North Korea: a feel-good romantic comedy about a plucky young woman who grabs her chance to run off to the circus, only to find her wings clipped by the show’s handsome but arrogant superstar. He seems determined to make sure she doesn’t succeed – until he falls in love with her. Watch: A glimpse at the real North KoreaU.S. scolds North Korea for unauthorized Disney show British co-director Nicholas Bonner called the story an “unexpected fairytale.” “It’s one purely about a girl going about her dream” Bonner told The Associated Press in an interview in Pyongyang. “She’s an individual and rather cheeky character with this dream of hers to fly.” Bonner has been traveling to Pyongyang...
