(CBS) Casey Anthony, the Florida woman acquitted last month of killing her 2-year-old daughter, is the most hated person in America, according to a new poll released Wednesday. The poll, conducted by E-Poll Market Research, found that the 25-year-old was more disliked than Paris Hilton, O.J. Simpson and “Octomom” Nadya Suleman. Reuters reports that 53 percent of those questioned in the poll said they were aware of Anthony and her story, and 94 percent of those people said they disliked her. “The Hills” personality Spencer Pratt came in second in the “total dislike” category. Suleman and Simpson came in third and fourth place, respectively. (CBS/AP) With millions of e-reader devices being sold while the Borders chain is going out of business, books arriving this fall face a radically different market from just a year ago. But despite the popularity of e-books, the season’s biggest selling title may be available only the old-fashioned way. “The Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever,” the seventh of Jeff Kinney’s series about the trials of schoolboy Greg Heffley, arrives in November with an announced first printing of over 6 million copies and, so far, there are no plans for an e-book. The print run is greater than the combined totals for two other likely blockbusters: Rick Riordan’s “Heroes of Olympus” (3 million copies) and Christopher Paolini’s “Inheritance” (2.5 million), the fourth and final book of his “Inheritance” fantasy cycle. The “Wimpy Kid” series has more than 45 million copies in print and the new book has already reached the top 20 on Amazon.com. Independent sellers say customers have been pre-ordering “Cabin Fever” for months. “They’re like the ‘Harry Potter’ books in that they appeal to kids who don’t necessarily love reading,” says Peter Glassman, owner of Books of Wonder in New York. “And when you do that, you reach a tremendous audience.” The e-revolution so far has been more for the old than for the young. (CBS) Kris Jenner is coming to “The Talk.” The reality TV personality, who stars with her family on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” will be a guest co-host on the CBS daytime talk show for 더나인카지노 two weeks in September. (AP) WASHINGTON – Iran is playing a growing role supporting the Syrian regime and is helping to build and train a militia to fight opposition forces, U.S. defense officials said Tuesday. Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told Pentagon reporters that the militia, which is generally made up of Syrian Shiite forces, is being used to take the pressure off the Syrian regime forces, which have been at war for almost 18 months. “Any army would be taxed with that kind of pace,” Dempsey said. “They are having re-supply problems, they are having morale problems, they are having the kind of wear-and-tear that would come of being in a fight for as long as they have.” Dempsey also said that it appears Syrian rebels were able to shoot down a Syrian warplane, but said he has seen no indication that they are armed with heavy weapons or surface-to-air missiles, at least not yet. He says the MiG fighter could have been shot down with small arms fire.
