(CBS) Move aside, Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton. There’s a new candidate for the most-extravagant-wedding crown. Croatian heiress Petra Ecclestone has reportedly spent $5 million on a Roman ceremony this weekend which wedded her to businessman James Stunt. Like Kardashian, Ecclestone wore Vera Wang – a custom-made $130,000 gown. She arrived for the ceremony in a white Rolls Royce. Like Middleton, Ecclestone invited Britain’s Princesses Beatrice and Eugenia as her guests. Also invited was their mother, 카지노사이트 Duchess Sarah Ferguson, who was snubbed at the royal wedding in April. Another pair of famous sisters, Paris and Nicky Hilton, also attended. According to E! Online, the multi-day affair also included a caviar and Cristal pre-wedding dinner with entertainment by Alicia Keys. Ecclestone, a 22-year-old fashion designer, is the daughter of former Armani model Slavica and Formula One racing chief executive Bernie Ecclestone. Ecclestone made headlines earlier this year when she paid $85 million for the Los Angeles mansion that was once the home of Aaron and Candy...

Here on the East Coast, most of us have little choice but to stay inside – and wait out the wrath of Irene. But elsewhere, you can go to the movies. David Edelstein has some recommendations … It has been a loud, 3-D summer at the multiplex, and while I’m perfectly receptive to the odd $150 million superhero picture, it wasn’t so odd this summer, it was the norm – and I’m ready for movies that aren’t in-your-face with a surcharge for the glasses. The comedy “Our Idiot Brother” won’t win any prizes, but its mellow vibe is a blessed relief. Paul Rudd plays Ned, a friendly, go-along-to-get-along screw-up of a brother to three high-strung sisters played by three appealing actresses: Emily Mortimer, Elizabeth Banks and Zooey Deschanel. Ned goes to prison after a cop in uniform approaches him to buy dope. Really! See for yourself: … No, stop the clip. It’s too painful. Anyway, when Ned gets out of jail he visits his sisters and messes up their lives by being too guilessly honest. He undermines their very foundations. This being a comedy, family ties strengthen rather than strangle. The uplift would be hard to buy if Rudd weren’t so lovable. I have no idea what he’s like in life, but I’d be stricken to hear he’s a jerk: It would be such an affront to the notion...

It’s convenient and a staple in most kitchens, but a lot of canned food still contains a chemical linked to birth defects and cancer, CBS San Francisco reports. Bisphenol A, or BPA, has been removed from baby products, reusable water bottles and most toys. But the chemical is still being used in a lot of food packaging. The Center for Environmental Health recently tested more than 250 cans purchased at supermarkets and dollar stores for BPA. Researchers found nearly 40 percent contained the chemical. That’s down from 67 percent two years ago, but the number still concerns some experts. “It’s still much too high,” Charles Margulis of the Center for 바카라사이트 Environmental Health told CBS News. “We need to get it down to zero.” BPA is used in the linings of cans, but some studies show that low levels of the chemical can seep into the food. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says BPA is safe at the current levels occurring in food. But the state of California recently added BPA to its Proposition 65 list as a chemical known to cause reproductive toxicity. Margulis says there are a variety of potential health concerns. “BPA is known to cause birth defects, and it’s also linked to breast cancer, obesity and many other serious health problems,” he said. Margulis also pointed out that low-income Americans may be most at...

LOS ANGELES – After sparring for more than a year, Mel Gibson and his ex-girlfriend have reached a financial and custody settlement of a bitter dispute that spawned a criminal case and left the Academy Award-winner’s reputation damaged. Los Angeles Superior Court officials said in a statement late Friday that Gibson and Russian musician Oksana Grigorieva had reached an agreement after days of negotiation. Terms and conditions of the settlement were not announced, but a hearing Wednesday will be held to discuss the financial terms. The equally contentious issue of custody of the couple’s infant daughter will be handled in closed session, the court announced. Pictures: Mel GibsonPhotos: Cheating hearts Gibson’s spokesman, Alan Nierob, confirmed the settlement and said the actor-director appreciated the judge’s help in mediating the case. Grigorieva spokesman Stephen Jaffe declined comment. The former couple has been at odds for more than a year over custody and financial issues in a mostly-secret court proceeding in Los Angeles. In June 2010, Gibson’s attorney, Stephen Kolodny, said his client had provided his ex-girlfriend with a four-bedroom, multimillion dollar home, vehicle and tens of thousands of dollars a month. It is unclear exactly how much Grigorieva has been receiving since then. The “Braveheart” star was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery as a result of a January 2010 fight with Grigorieva and pleaded no contest earlier this year. The actor-director...
