(CBS) — A second “Grease” star has passed away. Actress Annette Charles, who played Cha Cha DiGregorio and famously danced with John Travolta in the iconic film, died Wednesday in Los Angeles, according to reports. She was 63. Charles had been battling cancer, her mother tells Access Hollywood, and died from complications related to the disease. (AP) VERACRUZ, Mexico – Ernesto weakened to a tropical depression as it moved inland Friday, killing seven people and dumping rains in the mountains of Mexico’s flood-prone southern Gulf region. In Veracruz state, two people were killed early Friday, including a teenage girl who was inside a car dragged by a river current and a 62-year-old man who was struck by lightning, the state’s civil protection department said in a statement. It said three members of a family died Thursday night when strong winds knocked down a tree that fell on their car, the state’s civil protection department said in a statement. A 38-year-old man, his wife and their 8-year-old boy were killed, it added. In neighboring Tabasco state, two fishermen drowned when the stormed passed through the area Thursday, Gov. (CBS/AP) SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal’s son is in jail in Southern California after police stopped him for a traffic violation and allegedly found heroin in his car. Santa Monica police Sgt. Richard Lewis said Redmond O’Neal was pulled over at about 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday after an officer saw him fail to stop for a red light. Police said a search of his car uncovered the drug. Pictures: Celebrity mug shots He was being booked for the red light infraction, violating felony drug probation and possession of a controlled substance, Lewis added, according to the Los Angeles Times. The 26-year-old, who is on probation in a previous drug case, was jailed without bail. His lawyer, Richard Pintal, declined to comment to the Associated Press. O’Neal has a history of substance abuse problems. He completed a drug diversion program last year but remains on probation for bringing drugs to a Los Angeles County jail in 2009.
