(AP) JERUSALEM – Israel’s military chief warned Tuesday that an attack on Syrian chemical weapons depots could drag Israel into a broader war, counseling restraint after top officials declared they were prepared to strike to keep those weapons out of militants’ hands. (CBS News) LEBANON – The Syrian dictator threatened Monday to use chemical weapons and biological weapons against any aggression from foreign powers. It’s the first time Syria admitted it has weapons of mass destruction. (CBS) Earlier this week, a teaser trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man” leaked online and was quickly taken down. Now, the official version has been released. This new retelling of the Marvel superhero’s story stars Andrew Garfield (“The Social Network”) as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Emma Stone (“Easy A”) as his love interest, Gwen Stacy. Pictures: Andrew Garfield, the new “Spider-Man” The teaser looks much darker than Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy, which starred Tobey Maguire as Parker/Spider-Man. Comic book fans will also note that Garfield’s Spider-Man uses web-slingers. In Raimi’s films, the webs slung by the hero came straight out of his body. In this reboot, like in the comics, Parker has to design a device that allows him to fire the webbing. Most of the trailer focuses on the hero’s origins story – how Peter Parker becomes Spider-Man. At the end of the clip, we see him flying around New York City with the same kind of first-person point of view you’d expect from a video game. “The Amazing Spider-Man” will hit theaters next summer.
