(CBS) It’s not that “Whitney,” a new NBC comedy created by and starring comedienne Whitney Cummings, isn’t funny.

There were lots of laughs Thursday in the pilot episode of the half-hour show filmed before a live audience. Based on Cummings own life, the show, in this episode, focused on efforts she and boyfriend Alex made to jazz up their love life. And like everything Whitney seems to do, it goes awry.
The problem with this show is that there us nothing that makes it stand apart from all the other comedies about couples – married or unmarried – living together.
There are the usual pratfalls and plot coincidences and a raft of familiar characters – sassy mother, horny guy friend and 카지노 쿠폰 bitter divorcee.
In the end, it will probably come down to how likeable audiences find Cummings. And since she is already the co-creator and writer on another new comedy this season (“2 Broke Girls” on CBS), one wonders whether she will have the time needed to woo her audience.
