(CBS) Amber Portwood, one of the stars of MTV’s reality series “Teen Mom,” was taken to a hospital on Tuesday after threatening to commit suicide.

Police in Anderson, Ind., confirmed in a statement to RadarOnline.com that they responded to a call saying that Portwood had threatened to end her life.

“Late this morning (11:34 a.m.), Anderson Police responded to a call at a residence in the 1300 block of Pleasant Meadow Drive,” the statement said. “According to the caller, 21-year-old Amber L. Portwood was depressed and threatening to end her life. The victim, who did not appear to be injured, was transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation.”

A police source told the website that the call was not made by Portwood at her home, but came from “a relative” at a different location who asked authorities to check on her.

A rep for MTV told Us Weekly in a statement: “Our understanding is that Amber has been admitted to a local hospital, but we have not been able to confirm the accuracy of any reports being circulated and are waiting for further details. Our thoughts are with her and we hope to hear more soon.”

Portwood is known for 경상남도출장만남 her appearances on the MTV shows “16 and Pregnant,” which documented the birth of her daughter, Leah, and “Teen Mom,” which chronicled life after Leah’s birth, including Portwood’s tumultuous relationship with the father of her daughter, ex-fiance Gary Shirley.

Last week, she was given probation after pleading guilty to two felony domestic battery charges, according to the Associated Press. Anderson police investigated Portwood after a September episode of “Teen Mom” showed her slapping, choking and kicking Shirley with their daughter present.

Us Weekly reports that Portwood is currently being evaluated at St. John’s Hospital, and was visited briefly by Shirley, 24, on Tuesday afternoon.
