(CBS/AP) NEW YORK – TV viewers looking for another dose of 1960s nostalgia have to wait only a few months. “Mad Men” returns March 25.

Golden Globe winner and four-time Emmy nominee Jon Hamm, who plays Don Draper in the acclaimed AMC series, revealed the date of the fifth-season premiere in a podcast last week. AMC last aired a new episode of the Emmy-winning show in October 2010.

Hamm also says he will direct that episode. He appeared on Friday’s edition of the podcast “Doug Loves Movies,” hosted by comedian Doug Benson.

AMC declined to confirm the date. The return of the show follows protracted negotiations after the fourth season between Lionsgate, the studio that produces it, and its creator-executive producer, Matthew Weiner.

In addition to Hamm, who plays an advertising executive and divorced family man working in Manhattan in the 1960s, the show stars January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery and Vincent Kartheiser.

The series has won more than a dozen Emmys and four Golden Globes. It took home the Emmy for Best Drama Series in each of its four previous seasons.

The series is expected to run through a seventh season.
