Gianluigi Donnarumma’s uncertain future at AC Milan is the biggest soap opera in Italian football right now.
Just over a week ago, news broke that Donnarumma had turned down a new contract at AC Milan.
AC quickly responded to those claims. CEO Marco Fassone made it abundantly clear that the 18-year-old won’t be staying with the club beyond 2018. Case closed right?
But hours later the man himself confirmed that wouldn’t be the case.
Raiola tweeted the following late last night after rumours circulated that Donnarumma would leave the highly Bequeme Fußballtrikot controversial agent:
It all seems very confusing. Just days ago, CEO Marco Fassone released the following statement about the future of Donnarumma:
“Raiola informed us that Donnarumma has made a definitive decision not to renew the contract with Milan.
“We had made a strong proposal. The player evaluated it and made some evaluations that were not just economic, but he told us that he does not wish to renew the contract and his time with Milan will therefore conclude by June 30, 2018.
“We were taken by surprise, as we had hoped Donnarumma would be the goalkeeper taking Milan into the future. Naturally, the decision leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, but now we have to go forward.”
The saga took another bizarre twist last night. Donnarumma posted the following on Instagram, stating the following about his future at AC Milan:
‘Today with my tweets I’ve sparked a real buzz, which I did not want to generate, and I apologise for that,’
‘I want to reiterate my absolute love for Milan and the fans. Now I Fußballtrikot have in my mind the national team, with which I hope to give a gift to all the fans.
‘My promise is that as soon as the European Championships is over, I will meet the Club together with my family and my agent to discuss my renewal.’
Hours later, the Italian claimed that his Instagram was hacked and the statement was false.
