Like Middleton, Ecclestone invited Britain’s Princesses Beatrice and Eugenia as her guests. Also invited was their mother, Duchess Sarah Ferguson, who was snubbed at the royal wedding in April. Another pair of famous sisters, Paris and Nicky Hilton, also attended. According to E! Ecclestone, a 22-year-old fashion designer, is the daughter of former Armani model Slavica and Formula One racing chief executive Bernie Ecclestone. (AP) WASHINGTON – Iran is playing a growing role supporting the Syrian regime and is helping to build and train a militia to fight opposition forces, U.S. defense officials said Tuesday. Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told Pentagon reporters that the militia, which is generally made up of Syrian Shiite forces, is being used to take the pressure off the Syrian regime forces, which have been at war for almost 18 months. “Any army would be taxed with that kind of pace,” Dempsey said. “They are having re-supply problems, they are having morale problems, they are having the kind of wear-and-tear that would come of being in a fight for as long as they have.” Dempsey also said that it appears Syrian rebels were able to shoot down a Syrian warplane, but said he has seen no indication that they are armed with heavy weapons or surface-to-air missiles, at least not yet. He says the MiG fighter could have been shot down with small arms fire. Syria has blamed the crash on a technical malfunction, but Dempsey said the cause “didn’t appear to be mechanical.” U.S. lifts sanctions on ex-Syria PMDefected PM says Assad regime on “verge of collapse”Panetta: Syria no-fly-zone “not on the front burner”Iran: “Retired” elite soldiers among 48 hostages held by Syria rebels Dempsey and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta voiced...

Bisphenol A, or BPA, has been removed from baby products, reusable water bottles and most toys. But the chemical is still being used in a lot of food packaging. The Center for 놀이터 검증 사이트 Environmental Health recently tested more than 250 cans purchased at supermarkets and dollar stores for BPA. Researchers found nearly 40 percent contained the chemical. That’s down from 67 percent two years ago, but the number still concerns some experts. “It’s still much too high,” Charles Margulis of the Center for Environmental Health told CBS News. “We need to get it down to zero.” BPA is used in the linings of cans, but some studies show that low levels of the chemical can seep into the food. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says BPA is safe at the current levels occurring in food. But the state of California recently added BPA to its Proposition 65 list as a chemical known to cause reproductive toxicity. Margulis says there are a variety of potential health concerns. “BPA is known to cause birth defects, and it’s also linked to breast cancer, obesity and many other serious health problems,” he said. Margulis also pointed out that low-income Americans may be...
