Elon Musk is apparently renewing his claims that a British diver who assisted in the rescue of a youth soccer team from a Thai cave earlier this year is a child molester. In a July tweetstorm, the Tesla Motors and SpaceX CEO labeled Vernon Unsworth, a diver who helped rescue 12 boys and their soccer coach from a flooded cave, a “pedo guy,” after Unsworth criticized a submarine rescue plan the billionaire had proposed. The tweet has since been deleted and Musk apologized for the comment. Musk doubled down on the accusation in an email sent last week to BuzzFeed News, calling Unsworth a “child rapist” who had moved to Thailand to take a child bride. “I suggest that you call people you know in Thailand, find out what’s actually going on and stop defending child rapists, you f**king a**hole,” Musk wrote in an email that BuzzFeed published Tuesday. “He’s an old, single white guy from England who’s been traveling to or living in Thailand for 30 to 40 years, mostly Pattaya Beach, until moving to Chiang Rai for a child bride who was about 12 years old at the time.” Musk has offered no evidence to support his claims, and Unsworth attorney L. Lin Wood denied the latest accusation in a statement to BuzzFeed News. “Elon Musk can tweet his vindictive and vicious lie about Mr. Unsworth a hundred times...

WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday warned Syria against launching an attack on the country’s last rebel stronghold with the help of Russia and Iran, saying the offensive could trigger a “human tragedy.” Syrian forces are massing around the northwestern province of Idlib, in preparation for the assault. “President Bashar al-Assad of Syria must not recklessly attack Idlib Province. The Russians and Iranians would be making a grave humanitarian mistake to take part in this potential human tragedy,” Mr. Trump tweeted. “Hundreds of thousands of people could be killed. Don’t let that happen!” Moscow shirked the warning, as Russian warplanes carried out a number of airstrikes targeting rebels positions in Idlib province. London-based war monitoring group, the Syrian Observatory for 배터리바둑이게임 Human Rights (SOHR), said it was the first time Russian strikes had targeted the northwestern province in about three weeks, but they were limited in scope; reportedly hitting rebel positions in uninhabited areas and causing unclear damage. There was no indication as of Tuesday that it was the beginning of a wider offensive in Idlib. More in Syria crisis A spokesman for the Kremlin in Moscow dismissed Mr. Trump’s warning about the looming offensive, saying it failed to address the root problem of “a nest of terrorists” in the province, where an estimated 3 million civilians also remain. Russia, like the Syrian government, refers to all...

It’s convenient and a staple in most kitchens, but a lot of canned food still contains a chemical linked to birth defects and cancer, CBS San Francisco reports. Bisphenol A, or BPA, 포커 카드 순서 has been removed from baby products, reusable water bottles and most toys. But the chemical is still being used in a lot of food packaging. The Center for Environmental Health recently tested more than 250 cans purchased at supermarkets and dollar stores for BPA. Researchers found nearly 40 percent contained the chemical. That’s down from 67 percent two years ago, but the number still concerns some experts. “It’s still much too high,” Charles Margulis of the Center for Environmental Health told CBS News. “We need to get it down to zero.” BPA is used in the linings of cans, but some studies show that low levels of the chemical can seep into the food. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says BPA is safe at the current levels occurring in food. But the state of California recently added BPA to its Proposition 65 list as a chemical known to cause reproductive toxicity. Margulis says there are a variety of potential health concerns. “BPA is known to cause birth defects, and it’s also linked to breast cancer, obesity and many other serious health problems,” he said. Margulis also pointed out that low-income Americans may be...
