From garages to basements to a hole-in-the wall neighborhood bar, every musician started somewhere — played his or her songs for people in the hopes that maybe the right person could be listening and a career could be born. “Early Show” Contributor Ayla Brown has the story of one place where that is more likely to happen than just about any other. It’s called The Bluebird Cafe, and what makes this place so special is the people who sit in the audience, and the rich history of some pretty big singer/songwriters who have been discovered on its stage. They don’t call it music city for nothing. Nashville, Tennessee is the epicenter of country — one of the most popular forms of American music there is. For all the honky tonks and music bars that line the streets of downtown Nashville, there is one place that stands alone. “If you are a songwriter or a performing songwriter, you absolutely must come to The Bluebird. Last Updated 5:17 p.m. ET (AP) VATICAN CITY – The Vatican has brought in the Fox News correspondent in Rome to help improve its communications strategy as it tries to cope with years of communications blunders and one of its most serious scandals in decades, officials said Saturday. Greg Burke, 52, will leave Fox to become the senior communications adviser in the Vatican’s secretariat of state, the Vatican and Burke told The Associated Press. “I’m a bit nervous but very excited. Let’s just say it’s a challenge,” Burke said in a phone interview. He defined his job, which he said he had been offered twice before, as being along the lines of the White House senior communications adviser: “You’re shaping the message, you’re molding the message, and you’re trying to make sure everyone remains on-message. And that’s tough.” Burke, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, is a member of the conservative Opus Dei movement. Pope John Paul II’s longtime spokesman, Joaquin Navarro-Valls, was also a member of Opus Dei and was known for the papal access he enjoyed and his ability to craft the messages John Paul wanted to get out. He courted so much of it that he called his fourth album “Controversy.” These days he’s stirring things up over two topics that have proved incendiary: Religion and his music. The singer, who embraced religion fully and became a Jehovah’s Witness about a decade ago after years of Biblical references in his music, told The Guardian, “It’s fun being in Islamic countries, to know there’s only one religion. There’s order. You wear a burqa. There’s no choice. People are happy with that.” He suggested people who aren’t happy with that are the kind of people who are never happy with anything.
