CoroCoro scan reveals Generation V information

CoroCoro scan

A scan from the June 2010 issue of the magazine CoroCoro has appeared online, revealing various information on the upcoming games Pokémon Black and White.

According to the scan, the first Generation V games will be set in the region known as 「イッシュ」 Isshu, which is quite a distance away from all previous regions. The magazine scan implies that the region is a foreign place that must be traveled to by boat or airplane. The city shown in multiple screenshots and a video on Pokémon Sunday is to be called 「ヒウンシティ」 Hiun City.

The new playable characters are also presented. They are stated to be more grown-up than past protagonists, and both are wearing devices on their wrists that may be the successor of the Pokégear, PokéNav and Pokétch.

Finally, the scan also shows the starters of Pokémon Black and White; as in previous generations, the starters are Grass-, Fire-, and Water-type. The starters’ names are 「ツタージャ」 Tsutarja, 「ポカブ」 Pokabu, and 「ミジュマル」 Mijumaru.

Further information has also come in with updated information about Zoroark. This Pokémon has a new and unique method of capture. It appears that it will appear when one of the three shiny legendary beasts from the thirteenth movie giveaways is transferred to Black and White. Additionally, its ability is known as, 「イリュージョン」 Illusion, and it has two new moves 「イカサマ」 Trickery and 「つめとぎ」 Claw Sharpen.

More leaked scans continue to emerge, including battle scenes featuring the five already-revealed Pokémon and art and screenshots of locations in the Isshu region.

Was it ever confirmed that Reshiram would be the mascot of Black and that Zekrom would be the mascot of White?–AuraCrystal 17:31, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

On the Japanese site? It says right there that Reshiram’s the mascot of Black and so forth. Tina 17:38, 28 May 2010(UTC)

Oh yeah, just read the article. Also, the boxarts are revealed: http://www.pokemon-sp.jp/series/bw/#/productAuraCrystal 17:54, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

It’s also confirmed that the games will be out in Europa in Spring 2011.–CitruX 18:51, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Black or white?

I don’t get it, is the white legendary the version mascot of Black version and vice versa? That doesn’t make any sense! Taromon777 22:06, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

The box covers are the color of the version and the Legendaries are the opposite color to clash. It took me a few minutes, too. Codex_of_Wisdom 28 May 2010

A lot like Yin-Yang, eh? Link of Hyrule 02:05, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Type?

Apparently, Daisuki Club has just confirmed that Reshiram and Zekrom are at least part Dragon type. Should we put that? — AxxonntheAwesometrainer 16:38, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Yes we should. Thanks. ►Ҝəυzø8 06:35, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

I’m pretty sure that all the Daisuki Club has said is that Reshiram and Zekrom are “Legendary Dragon Pokemon” and didn’t outright say they were Dragon type. Charizard, Gyarados, etc. have been described as dragons, yet they aren’t Dragon type. Although it’s possible (and somewhat likely) that the Daisuki Club was alluding to Reshiram’s and Zekrom’s actual typing, we have little other evidence to support that they’re Dragon Type.–RegiRuler 23:10, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Electric

Yo this is Vijlemagne and if you read my article you’ll learn that there’s a strong chance that Zekrom is an electric type.

Jirachi to be distributed by Australian Toys “R” Us stores

Jirachi

A distribution of the Pokémon Jirachi has been revealed by the Australian Toys “R” Us catalog distributed last May 24. Australian stores will be giving out the Pokémon from June 3 to 13. This is not a Wi-Fi event.

This Jirachi will be similar to those distributed in South Korea, Latin America and the United States earlier this year and to those available to Japanese versions of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum last year. The level 5 Jirachi will be contained in a Cherish Ball, and it will hold a Liechi Berry and a Classic Ribbon. It will know the moves Wish, Confusion, Rest and Draco Meteor. It is currently unknown what Generation IV games players are allowed to use in order to obtain this Pokémon due to the fact that most distributions were held before the availability of the games HeartGold and SoulSilver. Transferring any Jirachi to the said games will allow players to unlock the Pokéwalker route Night Sky’s Edge.
