And Spanish website Don Balon claim Modric’s desire to return to England has reached the ears of Barcelona talisman Messi.

It is said Barcelona tröja the Croatia international fears his time at the top is drawing to a close.

And in order to ensure he leaves on a high, Modric wants to return to England, where he blossomed before with Tottenham.

Lionel Messi has learned the Real star could head back to the Premier League but teams from Italy are also keen.

Among them is AC Milan who, since appointing Gennaro Gattusso as manager, have found the swagger of old.

Milan reportedly want Modric to pull the strings in their midfield and form a solid partnership with bulldozer Franck Kessie.

Don Balon say, though, Modric may not be the only Real player on the move.

Toni Kroos and Mateo Kovacic could also be heading out of the Bernabeu exit door.

Manchester United want Kroos to help coax the best out of Paul Pogba next season, though Manchester City Juventus kläder are also keen.

Modric, meanwhile, is currently battling for fitness with Real’s crunch Champions League second leg against PSG fast approaching.

And Zinedine Zidane hopes he can prove his fitness in time.

“Modric has a hamstring issue,” he said.

“I always have faith in the staff here, the physios and doctors, so he will be back with us quickly.

“I don’t think it is serious.”
