Steve Komphela still has faith that Kaizer Chiefs can overtake Mamelodi Sundowns to win the Absa Premiership this season.

The Amakhosi are now eight games unbeaten in the league as they make a late push for the title, and with nine games left to go, they do still have a fighting chance.

After beating Cape Town City over the weekend, Chiefs put a Maglia Barcellona big dent in City’s title aspirations, with Ryan Moon again on the scoresheet as he scored for the fifth time in his last six games.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Komphela praised the 21-year-old and his teammates for their performance against the Citizens. He said, “The guy is ready to pounce at every opportunity that comes his way… Leonardo Castro and Daniel Cardoso also did very well.”

Meanwhile, when it comes to their title bid, he added, “There are still nine matches to go, which means that there are still a lot of points to play for. This win is a great confidence booster. But to be able to challenge for the league title, we have to dig deep. We are Maglia juventus 2019 looking forward to (pushing) Sundowns to the end.”

The Amakhosi are currently four points behind Masandawana as we enter the final third of the season, with only seven points separating the top six teams in the league.

Chiefs host Celtic on Saturday evening at 20h15 as they look to keep their unbeaten run going, and could potentially close the gap on Sundowns even further.
