The institute honored “Fishing Without Nets” with the jury prize for short filmmaking. The film tells the story of pirates in Somalia, told from the perspective of the pirates themselves.

“By approaching a story of epic scope with an intimiate perspective, this visually stunning film creates a rare, inside point of view that humanizes a global story,” the short film jury said of the film, reports Deadline.

The jury also awarded prizes in short filmmaking for U.S. fiction, 바카라사이트 international fiction, non-fiction, animated short-film, comedic storytelling and animation direction.

This year’s short film program was comprised of 64 short films selected from a record of 7,675 submissions.

The winners will also be honored Saturday night at the festival’s awards ceremony, hosted by actress Parker Posey.
