(CBS) The Emmys are almost here, and while many have been speculating on who will win what, others are wondering what to expect from Jane Lynch as host.

So, what will a Lynch-helmed Emmy ceremony look like? And, as a nominee for her role on “Glee,” could she leave with a statuette as well?

In an interview with the Associated Press, Lynch teased that the Emmys will feature an appearance by the cast of “Jersey Shore.”

She added that the show will also star a chorus of singing TV actors who will introduce the award categories. They might help move the show along, too.

“If any of our winners go long, they’ll be gently singing them off,” promised Lynch.

The actress, who won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series last year and is nominated in the same category again, told USA Today that she’s focusing on the individual components of hosting, to avoid stressing over the big picture.

“I actually had the gall to compare it to playing Hamlet,” she said. “When you look at playing Hamlet, you go, ‘Oh, my God, I’m playing Hamlet.’ You’re going to freak out. But if you say, ‘I’ve got this speech, I’ve got this scene, I’ve got this soliloquy,’ it’s reasonable.”

Emmy producer Mark Burnett told the paper that a pre-taped introduction will feature Lynch visiting the sets of some “very big TV shows” and will feature cameos by big stars.

There will also reportedly be a big musical number near the middle of the telecast.

“Jane is certainly going to be central to our experience,” Academy of Television Arts and Sciences chairman John Shaffner told the AP. “I think the host of a program like this is the best friend who sits on the sofa and tells you great stories as the evening goes on and comments on the work. She’s here to keep us engaged in that way as a best friend.”

So, what about Lynch’s own Emmy prospects? She’s nominated alongside Betty White (“Hot in Cleveland”), Sofia Vergara (“Modern Family”), Julie Bowen (“Modern Family”), Jane Krakowski (“30 Rock”) and Kristin Wiig (“Saturday Night Live”). Many are guessing that White or Vergara will win the category.

“Glee” is also nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, but it’s being predicted that “Modern Family” will take home the award.

The Emmy Awards will be telecast live Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
