(CBS/AP) – Filmmaker Sofia Coppola tied the knot with her longtime rocker boyfriend, Thomas Mars, in southern Italy on Saturday.

The couple said “I do” in an early evening ceremony at Coppola’s family’s villa in the remote, southern Italian town of Bernalda, where her great-grandfather was born.

The bride, 40, was escorted down the aisle by her famous filmmaker father, Francis Ford Coppola, to a waiting Mars, lead singer of the French band 강남 사설 카지노 Phoenix and the father of their two young daughters, Romy, 4, and Cosima, 15 months.

The town’s mayor, Leonardo Chiruzzi, performed the ceremony, which was reportedly attended by 80 people.

“Everything went well,” Chiruzzi told The Associated Press afterwards. “It was simple, calm, in the garden.”

Coppola wore a sheer, lavender tulle dress by Azzedine Alaia, while Mars donned a gray suit with a flower in the lapel.

After the service, the newlyweds and the father of the bride, wearing a white linen suit and pink shirt, popped out of the palazzo briefly to greet onlookers. She was holding a glass of bubbly.

Guests reportedly included director George Lucas, Johnny Depp and Talia Shire, the bride’s aunt, who is best known for her roles in her brother’s “The Godfather” films and as Sylvester Stallone’s girlfriend Adrian in “Rocky.”

A dinner was planned to be followed by cake, made to serve about 100 people. It was a simple vanilla cake with chantilly cream, decorated with white flowers and prepared by the chef at the Magna Grecia hotel in Bernalda, said Biagio Loiudice, who runs the hotel.

“They came in last week and chose the cake,” he said by telephone. “It’s not high, very simple. They preferred simplicity.”

It is the second marriage for Coppola, who won an Oscar in 2003 for the screenplay of her film, “Lost and Translation.”  She was previously married to fellow filmmaker Spike Jonze.  The two divorced in 2003.
