Well, to whoever wanted a Catholicism tag: Here you go. As for the reason why I picked Gallade: The Romans were the first thing that came to my mind when thinking of Catholicism and Gallade resembles a Roman Gladiator.–Pokencyclopedia 19:35, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
I don’t think it’s good to use a Gallade for it. Also, the template color is really BAD. What do those colors have to do with Catholicism? –Netto-kun 23:46, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Most Catholics are Irish – thus, the Irish flag colors. TinaTheKirlia ♪☆ 23:49, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
In fact, there are a lot in Brazil, Portugal, and Europe in general. I suggest changing the colors. I also, I think Gallade isn’t a good Pokémon to represent Catholicism.–Netto-kun 18:06, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, what would you suggest?–Pokencyclopedia 19:18, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
I think those colors are there because they are Gallade’s colors. YinYang1195 20:00, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Most Catholic are Irish? Lol! LOOOOOL! Really I fell off my chair! You made me laugh hilariously! I think I’m about to die! –Maxim 14:12, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Irish? Look at the christianity map – most of them (in % of the country) are in Italy, Poland, and few other countries. Definitly not Ireland. And why did you use Gallade? Jerzy232 15:22, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia cites 86.8% of the population of the Republic of Ireland as Roman Catholic according to the most recent census. In comparison, Brazil is 74%, Portugal is 84%, Italy is 87.8% and Poland is the only country significantly higher than the RoI at 90%. The point is, there is a reason being Catholic is part of the Irish stereotype and if you don’t think there are Catholics in Ireland then you need to learn some 20th Century Irish history.
Anyway, the logic for choosing Gallade is clearly flawed but it isn’t as if it is actually possible to find a decent match for most of these tags. –FabuVinny T-C-S 01:25, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
When I think of Roman Gladiators, I think of Henryk Sienkiewicz’s Quo Vadis. I’d really recommend You this book. And which Pokémon I’d like to see in this tag? Hmm.. Maybe Togekiss? It reminds me the idea of the Holy Spirit. Or maybe a Fish (Goldeen?,Remoraid? Finneon?) That’s the most common Christian symbol, apart of cross (BTW, Quo Vadis tells why fish is the Christians’ symbol)Piotr mil 20:34, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Why not use the Vatican colors (Gold and White)? Nice and neutral. As for the Pokémon, people can change that, so it’s not a big deal. I use Slowking, because of its Shelder’s resemblance to the old papal tiara (though of course that’s a bit outdated, but what the heck, it doesn’t matter much). Bulbajer 01:29, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I agree with Bulbajer on the colors. I’d probably want Finneon or Slowking for reasons stated above. We’ve already established that the Irish colors aren’t of relevance and the Roman soldiers crucifying Jesus is accepted as fact among almost everyone, so that’s irrelevant. –Bee § Bwakka♂ (meh talk) 21:58, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
