Patrice Evra is not having a very good Friday after he was reportedly sacked by Marseille and then suspended from UEFA competitions in the same day after an altercation with a fan last week.

Last week former Manchester United full back, and everyone’s favourite footballer on Instagram, Patrice Evra was centre of attention for all the wrong reasons after he kicked one of his own fans in the Benfica Fodboldtrøjer head before a Europa League game against Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes.

The club’s American owner Frank McCourt this week told French newspaper La Provence that, “This was unacceptable behaviour, from both the player and the supporters. It’s not something that we can tolerate at Marseille, it’s as simple as that.”

The incident saw the 36 year-old receive a red card before the match had even begun and he was reported to UEFA for the incident.

Europe’s footballing body have now decided to suspend the Frenchman from all European competitions for the next seven months, meaning he can’t play in the Europa League or Champions League for the rest of the season:

But there is even worse news for Evra as Marseille have reportedly sacked the player they signed from Juventus at the end of last season Barcelona Fodboldtrøjer due to a breach of his contract:

At the weekend the fans had definitely picked their follow supporter as the less guilty party holding up a banner that read, “We don’t want you in our colours anymore. Evra get lost.”

After years at Monaco, Manchester United and Juventus as one of Europe’s best defenders and a successful career it remains to be seen what is next for the legendary left-back.
